Since he's a vampire, when he bites someone they experience a pleasure more intense than sex and for about an hour afterward their blood resonates with the blood he's drunk and they 'feel' as if they are him; they can also read his thoughts and see through his eyes. He's an arrogant guy by nature and only involves himself in things that interest him.
